We stayed at Solbakken, a resort on the shore of Lake Superior. The students went out on independent trips during the day and while they were doing that the TAs and Bryan went out as well.

The first day we went snow shoeing to Angel Lake. It was so peaceful! We found a pair of lynx tracks, which is a huge deal because there are only about 240 lynx in Minnesota. We suspect that it was either a mating pair or a mother and cub. The tracks were fresh too because it had snowed the day before.

Bounding lynx coming together.

The second day we went cross country skiing. Bryan taught us a lot that I did not know before, like how to break while going down a hill. You know, useful information... We saw a deer just off the trail and the freshest and clearest wolf tracks I've ever seen. At the very end of the trail, I could see the van, I crashed on purpose because I was about to run into a trail groomer and I messed up my ankle.
