Things are winding down and people are working on their projects. I wrote my reflection paper and I realized how much I learned on this trip. Here is the last paragraph of the paper:

What did this trip do for me? It humbled and encouraged me. I have a lot of areas to work on, like separating myself from the students in a healthy way and finding the grey area of being approachable while still being an unquestioned authority figure. I gained a lot of confidence from this experience. The students looked up to me and I discovered intangible confidence in my own abilities. If I want something to happen, it is going to happen. It might not be plan A or even plan R, but I will keep working hard and challenging myself until I become the best leader and person that I can be.

I am going to end with the final words of Sigurd Olson. He wrote this before going out on a snowshoe hike. He was in his eighties and so was his wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth said she was tired and that she was going to head back. Sigurd said he was going to keep going for a little while. He never returned and she found him, he had had a heart attack. This was the last thing he wrote. Still in the type writer today:
