Getting Ready for the Students!

I arrived in Sandstone, MN around 1 pm. I moved in and met with the full time masters students. We cooked dinner and talked about the course. Very chill.

We fed the animals at Osprey Wilds. I almost got to hand feed a porcupine, but animals are stubborn and a Fellow, Celia, of Osprey Wilds fed a red tailed hawk in front of me instead. That was just as fascinating because that hawk was half blind because of brain damage from West Nile disease. She changed how she ate because of that.

I slept in the woman's cabin for the j-term alone, which was a revealing experience. I felt comfortable with that concept. That makes me feel very independent and competent. I look forward to meeting the students tomorrow!
